5th APT/ITU Conformance and Interoperability Event 2017

24 September 2017 - 28 September 2017
Busan, Republic of Korea

The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) are jointly organizing the 5th Conformance and Interoperability (C&I) Event 2017 from 24 to 28 September 2017 in Busan, Republic of Korea. This C&I Event will include testing and showcasing and will be held during ITU Telecom World 2017 from 25 to 28 September 2017 at the same venue.

APT is inviting the companies to conduct testing and potential exhibitors to participate in showcasing during the C&I Event. APT Member Administrations are also requested to encourage Affiliate Members in their countries to participate in the C&I Event.

The objective of the C&I Event is to foster understanding and promote activities on C&I in the APT region. The event will also directly contribute to capability building and finding a solution for interoperability issues of APT member countries.

Governments, telecom operators, manufacturers and research institutes of APT or ITU Membership and regional standards development organizations (SDOs) are expected to participate in this event.

The event will include the following two parts: Testing and Showcasing.

The testing part will include conformance and/or interoperability test of the products which are based on the ITU-T Recommendations. Manufacturers and service providers are encouraged to bring their products and participate to check interoperability. The results of the interoperability testing can be shared among the participants of the interoperability testing with bilateral agreement bases such as non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). It could cover technologies and services such as IPTV including IPTV-MAFR (Multimedia Application Framework).

The showcasing part will be a demonstration of the emerging products made by participating manufacturers and research institutes. This part aims to underscore advanced technologies and ongoing standards work at ITU-T. There may also be a way to show promotion videos of demonstrations on TV monitors. The main theme of the showcasing is Smart ABC. Each exhibitor will show services, applications and technologies relating to Smart City and IoT such as:
    a) Service and application of Smart City/IoT, e.g. IPTV/internet TV, e-Health, e-government, e-education, ITS, Smart water, and Smart energy;
    b) Network and transport of Smart City/IoT including IMT2020/5G;
    c) Wireless technologies to access to Smart City/IoT;
    d) Security of Smart City/IoT to support safe and secure life; and
    e) Bridging standard gap to build a Smart City and support its communities.
