The 3rd SATRC Workshop on Network and Services was held from 12-14 July 2011, in Thimphu, Bhutan. The Workshop was supported by the extra budgetary contribution from Japan is organized by the Asia Pacific Telecommunity and hosted by the Bhutan InfoComm and Media Authority (BICMA).

The SATRC Workshop on Network and Services is part of the implementation of SATRC Action plan Phase III which was adopted at the 11th SATRC meeting in 2009 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The purpose of the workshop is to build capacity of the SATRC Member countries on Network and Services issues that are of importance to the members. The workshop also provided an excellent opportunity to exchange views and experiences among the SATRC member countries.
