The First APT Preparatory Meeting for ITU 2012 World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT12-1) was held in the afternoon of 27 May 2011, in Bangkok, Thailand.

The WCIT12-1 will be preceded by the 18th APT Standardization Forum (ASTAP-18) from 23 to 26 May 2011 and the First APT Preparatory Meeting for ITU World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly 2012 (WTSA12-1) in the morning of 27 May 2011.

The objectives of the First APT Preparatory Meeting for WCIT-12 include the election of the Chairman for the preparatory group, establishment of correspondence groups and defining the time line and work activities of the preparatory group as well as review of the outcome of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference held in 2010.
