3rd Meeting of the APT Conference Preparatory Group for World Radiocommunication Conference 2019 (APG19-3)

Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) organized the 3rd Meeting of the APT Conference Preparatory Group for World Radiocommunication Conference 2019 (APG19-3) from 12 to 16 March 2018 in Perth, Australia. The meeting was hosted by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) with support from the Department of Communications and the Arts (DoCA), Australia. The objectives of APG19-3, as agreed by APG19-2 held in Bali, Republic of Indonesia, are as follows:

  1. to review the results of APG19-2;
  2. to review issues associated with each WRC-19 Agenda item and continue developing APT preliminary views based on input contributions from APT Members; 
  3. to consider the results ofiTU-R studies and relevant information provided by AWG in relation to WRC-19 Agenda items, and take necessary actions as appropriate; 
  4. to review the activities of other regional organisations, in particular, their preliminary views/position with a view to fostering inter-regional cooperation; 
  5. to undertake an initial review of issues related to RA-19 activities and develop a timetable for the development of harmonised APT Views; 
  6. to review, as necessary, the Working Methods of APG in relation to mechanism in coordinating APT activities during CPM19-2, RA-19 and WRC-19;
  7. to contribute, as appropriate, to the activities of APT Preparatory Group for PP-18 with respect to the issues under the purview ofthe APG; 
  8. to review and revise, as appropriate, the APG work plan including the tentative schedule of meetings.

APG19-3 is expected to achieve the following outcomes:

  1. update of APT preliminary views on WRC-19 Agenda Items and issues associated with each WRC-19 Agenda Item; 
  2. the provisional objectives and expected outcomes of APG19-4; 
  3. proposed modifications to Working Methods of APG, if required;
  4. contribution, if required, to APT Preparatory Group for PP-18; 
  5. revisions to the APG work plan for the preparation of WRC-19, if any.

Prior to APG19-3, APT will organize 'Training Workshop for International Conferences - for APG / WRC -' which will be held from 8 to 9 March 2018 at the same venue. For detail about the training workshop please click here.

All APT Members, Associate Members, Affiliate Members and International/Regional Organizations can attend the meeting by registering online. Member Administrations and International/Regional Organizations are requested to send the official List of Delegations for the meeting and to nominate Head of Delegation (HoD) and Alternate HoD. If any APT Affiliate Member is included in the National Delegation, please clearly mention in the List of Delegation.

Participation of Non-Members: Non-Members can attend the meeting with “Observer” status by paying Registration Fee of USD $500 per person. Non-Member participants under a National Delegation are exempted from paying the Registration Fee upon submission of a letter of nomination signed by the responsible officer of the Administration. The above requirement does not apply to the host country participation. Please contact the APT Secretariat for the payment methods of the Registration Fees.

Contributions for the meeting from APT Members, Associate Members, Affiliate Members, regional and International Organizations are welcome. You are requested to use the proper document template for your contribution. Please refer to the ‘Contribution Guidelines’ for detail process of submitting the contribution. The ‘Contribution Guidelines’ is available at the website mentioned above. Contributions will be posted on APT Website prior to the starting of the meeting.
