The 5th Meeting of APT Conference Preparatory Group for WRC-19 (APG19-5)

The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) organized the 5th Meeting of APT Conference Preparatory Group for WRC-19 (APG19-5) from 31 July - 6 August 2019 in Tokyo, Japan. The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Japan.

The provisional objectives of APG19-5, as agreed by APG19-4 held in Busan, Republic of Korea, were as follows:

  1. to review the results of the APG19-4 meeting;
  2. to review the outcomes of CPM19-2 and 26th meeting of RAG;
  3. to consider the results of ITU-R studies and relevant information provided by AWG in relation to WRC-19 Agenda items, and take necessary actions as appropriate;
  4. to finalise APT views for WRC-19 Agenda items based on input contributions from APT Members;
  5. to develop Preliminary APT Common Proposals (PACPs) for WRC-19 Agenda items;
  6. to review issues related to RA-19 activities and develop the corresponding APT Positions, if any;
  7. to develop Preliminary APT Common Proposals (PACPs) for RA-19, if any;
  8. to review the activities of other regional organisations, in particular, their positions and common proposals with a view to fostering inter-regional cooperation; and
  9. to review, if necessary, the Working Methods of APG in relation to mechanism in coordinating APT activities during RA-19 and WRC-19.

APG19-5 achieved the following outcomes:

  1. Preliminary APT Common Proposals (PACPs) for WRC-19 Agenda items;
  2. Preliminary APT Common Proposals (PACPs) for RA-19;
  3. APT Positions on issues related to WRC-19 and/or RA-19.
