The 5th Meeting of APT Conference Preparatory Group for WRC-19 (APG19-5)

The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) will organize the 5th Meeting of APT Conference Preparatory Group for WRC-19 (APG19-5) from 31 July to 6 August 2019 in Tokyo, Japan. The meeting will be hosted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Japan.

The provisional objectives of APG19-5, as agreed by APG19-4 held in Busan, Republic of Korea, are as follows:

  1. to review the results of the APG19-4 meeting;
  2. to review the outcomes of CPM19-2 and 26th meeting of RAG;
  3. to consider the results of ITU-R studies and relevant information provided by AWG in relation to WRC-19 Agenda items, and take necessary actions as appropriate;
  4. to finalise APT views for WRC-19 Agenda items based on input contributions from APT Members;
  5. to develop Preliminary APT Common Proposals (PACPs) for WRC-19 Agenda items;
  6. to review issues related to RA-19 activities and develop the corresponding APT Positions, if any;
  7. to develop Preliminary APT Common Proposals (PACPs) for RA-19, if any;
  8. to review the activities of other regional organisations, in particular, their positions and common proposals with a view to fostering inter-regional cooperation; and
  9. to review, if necessary, the Working Methods of APG in relation to mechanism in coordinating APT activities during RA-19 and WRC-19.

APG19-5 is expected to achieve the following outcomes:

  1. Preliminary APT Common Proposals (PACPs) for WRC-19 Agenda items;
  2. Preliminary APT Common Proposals (PACPs) for RA-19;
  3. APT Positions on issues related to WRC-19 and/or RA-19, if any..

Participation:
All APT Members, Associate Members, Affiliate Members, International/Regional Organizations, and Eligible Non-Members can participate in the meeting by registering online through the APT Website.

Administrations of Members and Associate Members and International/Regional Organizations are kindly requested to send the official List of Delegations for the meeting and to nominate Head of Delegation (HoD) and Alternate HoD. If any APT Affiliate Member is included in the National Delegation, please clearly mention in the List of Delegation.

Participation of Non-Members: With the discretion of Secretary General of APT, Non-Members can attend the meeting as an “Observer” by paying a Registration Fee of USD 500 per person in consultation with the relevant APT Member Administration as appropriate. The payment can be made in cash at the time of registration at the Meeting venue or it may be sent through bank transfer to the APT prior to the Meeting. Please contact APT Secretariat for further payment details. The registration fee can be waived for non-member participants from the host country, Japan, once they are approved by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan.

For planning and logistical arrangements it is suggested to register on or before 1 July 2019.

Submission of Contributions:
Contributions for the meeting from APT Members, Associate Members, Affiliate Members, regional and International Organizations are welcome. You are requested to use the proper document template for your contribution. Please refer to the ‘Contribution Guidelines’ for detail process of submitting the contribution. Contributions will be posted on APT Website prior to the starting of the meeting.
