The 1st Meeting of the Correspondence Group for the Asia-Pacific ICT Ministerial Meeting in 2019 (CGMM-1) was held from 15 to 17 January 2019 at APT Headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 42nd Session of the Management Committee of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (MC-42) held from 9 to 12 October 2018 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia approved the establishment of the “Correspondence Group for the Asia-Pacific ICT Ministerial Meeting in 2019” (CGMM) and its two physical meetings in
2019. MC-42 also approved the appointment of Mr. Charles Chew, Director, International, Infocomm Media Development Authority, Singapore, as the Chairman of CGMM.

According to the Terms of Reference, CGMM will work mainly through the correspondence via email reflector. Its scope of work includes to:   

• develop and review the draft Ministerial Statement and draft Press Release to be submitted to the Senior Official Meeting of the Asia-Pacific ICT Ministerial Meeting in 2019 (Ministerial Meeting);
• review the provisional agenda and tentative programme of the Ministerial Meeting; and
• advise APT Secretariat on any other matters related to the Ministerial Meeting.
