The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) organized the 1st Meeting of the APT Preparatory Group for WTSA-20 (APT WTSA20-1) on 11 June 2019 (morning) in Tokyo, Japan. The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of the Government of Japan.

The objective of APT WTSA20-1 was to establish the structure of the APT Preparatory Group for WTSA-20, adopt its tentative Terms of Reference, elect Chairman and Vice-Chairmen, develop Working Methods of the Group, appoint Office Bearers of the Group and develop tentative Work Plan of the Group.
