Virtual Meeting

The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) organized a virtual meeting for the 17th APT Telecommunication/ICT Development Forum (ADF-17) from 27 to 28 August 2020.

The ADF provided a platform for the APT members to discuss ways for development of telecommunication and ICT.  It is also a platform to share the outcomes and achievements of the ICT Pilot Projects in rural areas and other ICT projects funded by the Extra-Budgetary Contributions (EBCs). Given the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, ADF-17 mainly focused on sharing achievements of the projects funded by Extra-Budgetary Contributions from Japan and the Republic of Korea and introduced a new scheme of project supported by EBC from China. 

The objectives of the ADF-17 were to:

• Report outcomes and achievements of the APT Projects via Extra-Budgetary Contributions (EBCs) and
• Provide guidance and key considerations in the formulation of EBC project proposals including the implementation of the EBC projects.
