The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) organized the South Asian Telecommunication Regulators’ Council (SATRC) Workshop on Recent Trends and Technologies from 27 to 28 September 2021 virtually. The workshop was originally scheduled to be held on 11-13 March 2020 in Nepal as circulated in the invitation letter Ref: APT/2019/SATRC-WSRTT/NF and was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The SATRC Workshop on Recent Trends and Technologies was a part of the implementation of SATRC Action Plan Phase VII for 2019–2020, which was approved by the 19th Meeting of the SATRC held in Islamabad, Pakistan in 2018 and was extended to 2021 for implementation at the SATRC-21 held on 27-28 October 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The workshop will focus on recent trends and technologies for providing connectivity and encouraging innovation.
