APT has been at the forefront of assisting members in developing telecommunication and ICT services in the Asia Pacific region.  This assistance has many fronts and includes providing forums and workshops dealing with policy and technological issues pertaining to telecommunication/ICT and capacity building (HRD) including training courses on various topics. 

Sharing information with our Members and our regional stakeholders is a priority for the APT as today’s telecommunication industry is driven by the unprecedented growth in the use of broadband, mobile phones and networks, digital broadcasting and intelligent terminals which is giving rise to many challenges. The availability and exchange of information therefore plays a crucial role in such a dynamic situation.  

APT is also playing a key role in helping the Asia Pacific region prepare for many ITU global conferences by developing “Common Proposals “ from the Asia Pacific region.   These preparatory meetings have earned the respect of global forums and have proven to be very successful in harmonizing and promoting the views of the Asia Pacific Region on the global scene.

For greater responsiveness to the need of APT Members, we have improved our website to better facilitate communication among APT members and to enhance cooperation with our regional and international partners from both the public and private sectors.
