New Management of the APT
Mr. Masanori Kondo (Japan)
will take office as Secretary General of the APT and Mr. Liu Ziping (People's
Republic of China) as Deputy Secretary General of the APT from 9 February
2021. Mr. Masanori Kondo and Mr.
Liu Ziping were elected at the 15th Session of the General of the APT (GA-15)
held from 3 to 5 December 2020. The Secretary General and the Deputy
Secretary General of the APT shall hold office for a term of three years
according to Article 10, paragraph 2 of the Constitution of the APT. |

The 2nd Meeting of the APT Preparatory Group for WTDC-21 (APT
WTDC21-2) 24 - 26 February 2021, Virtual Meeting The APT will organize the
2nd Meeting of the APT Preparatory Group for WTDC-21 (APT WTDC21-2) from 24
to 26 February 2021 as a virtual meeting. APT WTDC21-2 will discuss
the issues of interest to the region for the World Telecommunication
Development Conference 2021 (WTDC-21) and provide input to the Regional
Preparatory Meeting – Asia and the Pacific (RPM-ASP), in particular draft
Regional Initiatives of Asia and the Pacific. APT WTDC21-2 is expected to
conduct the following activities: ·
To discuss on issues for the WTDC-21 and
identification of potential topics for APT Common Proposals ·
To prepare APT inputs to RPM for the Regional
Initiatives ·
To review of the Structure and Work Plan of

The 27th
Meeting of the APT Wireless Group (AWG-29) 22 - 30 March 2021,
Virtual Meeting The APT will organize the
27th Meeting of the APT Wireless Group (AWG-27) from 22 to 30 March 2021 as a
virtual meeting. The APT Wireless Group
(AWG) covers various aspects of emerging wireless systems to meet the
upcoming digital convergence era in the Asia-Pacific region. It also assists
to provide cost effective radiocommunication solutions and to facilitate the
transfer of technology and knowledge. At its 27th meeting, the AWG will
report on the progress of its activities and discuss the relevant topics and
issues further.

Meeting of the APG for WRC-23 (APG23-2) 19 - 23 April
2021, Virtual Meeting The 2nd Meeting of the APG
for WRC-23 (APG23-2) will be held from 19 to 23 April 2021 as a virtual
meeting. The objectives of the APG23-2 are as follows: ·
review of the working methods of APG for
necessary amendments; ·
nomination for the Chairmen of Drafting
Groups on individual WRC-23 agenda items; ·
consideration of the study progress in ITU-R
Study Groups; ·
review of the preparation of ITU and other
regional organizations for WRC-23; and ·
discussion and adoption of the APT
