The 27th Meeting of the Regional Interagency Working Group on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) (IAWG-27)

The Interagency Working Group was created to explore ways to collaborate and create synergies among UN agencies in implementing ICT and digital technology initiatives in Asia and the Pacific region. This annual interagency meeting has been serving as an important platform to facilitate information sharing, coordination and planning of joint activities among participating organizations/agencies. In particular, the meeting discussed respective work programmes and explored opportunities for joint activities towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a view to leveraging synergies, avoiding duplications, and enhancing the impact of ICT development in the region.

The Working Group meetings have been co-convened with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT). This year, the meeting will be organized by APT.
